Vibraphone Solo

POP ROX, by Ivan Trevino

From Song Book Vol. 4.3.

A marimba duo performed with Emily Durocher. This piece and others in the collection will be publicly available later this year

Blue Burn, by Joe Tompkins

A percussion quintet that I was coaching at the University of Kentucky before covid hit. It is a groovy work that asks for similar set-ups between all five players, making it easy to have one person record all the parts.

Trilogy, by Tim Huesgen

  1. Vision in a Dream

  2. A Fragment

  3. In a Mazy Motion

An audience-friendly solo work for vibraphone. This work would be great for recitals. In fact, I first heard this piece in a recital my freshman year of undergrad and have had it on my “want to perform” list ever since.

Dues Ex Metronome by Russell Wharton

I was contacted by Franco Perez a few years ago about joining a consortium for a snare drum piece by one of his friends. While I didn’t know the Russell Wharton, I did know of a prior piece he had also written for Franco. I am very glad I joined the consortium. This piece challenged my sense of rhythm like nothing else had done in quite a while.
