16th-Note Timing Play-along Tracks
Use this exercise and the accompanying tracks to improve your ability to read and perform 16th-notes patterns. The tracks come in three tempos: 60BPM, 90BPM, and 120BPM. Start with the fully written exercise at the top, referred to as #0. Afterward, replace each bracketed rhythm with one of the numbered variations below.
Start at the slowest speed, moving on to faster tempos only after your interpretation and understanding of each variation is perfect. Start playing at a low stick height with a high velocity to ensure each note is deliberately placed and adhere to the stickings. If using this for marching percussion, be sure to mark time. Each track repeats four times.
